Ski Teams Take New England

The boys’ and girls’ varsity ski teams both took the New England titles at Pat’s Peak in New Hampshire on Wednesday the 16th. In the girls’ events, Lauren Stobierski ’14 was crowned the New England champion in slalom, as Annika Trapness ’13 took 3rd place and Marly Morgus ’12 finished in 14th. Beth Lawless ’12 powered into 2nd place in the giant slalom, with Stobierski in 7th and Trapness hot on her heels in 8th. Jack Stobierski ’12 dominated both boys’ events, winning the slalom by 2 seconds and the G.S. by 4. In the G.S, Captain Keo Brown ’11 cruised into 4th, while Oliver Hopkinson ’12 rounded out the scoring in 15th. Finally in the slalom, Hopkinson raced to 8th and Peter Stobierski ’14 grabbed 10th. Both the boys and girls won their slalom and giant slalom races, the boys beating out 16 teams and the girls crushing 11 other schools to become New England champions.
